We are Six String Sircus.
Though the band has only been together since 2020 and is currently undergoing a new iteration of the group, each member of the band brings years of experience and talent that makes this band from Paducah, KY like no other.
Our amalgam of musical influences has combined to operate a versatile power pop, rock, and dance driven set list guaranteed to get fannies out the seats and feet on the dance floor. We are known to drop our own spin on numbers from time-to-time; one never knows how that will play out adding to the spectacle of our “Sircus”.
Come one, come all! Come see the Greatest Show on Earth as presented by Six String Sircus. Let’s go!
Tony Vancil
The Master of Ceremonies/Vocals/Rhythm Guitar
When he’s not making music, he drives fast cars on dirt.
One of his favorite quotes: “Music is our business and business is GOOD!”
Take a bow, TV!
Martha Sue Vancil
The Lion Tamer/Vocals/Shakers
Her favorite thing to do is a girls' weekend away (what goes on in FlorBama, stays in FlorBama)!
Martha Sue writes, quote:
“Since I was a little girl, I remember hearing singing and trumpet playing coming from my brother’s room; he is my muse and inspiration. I enjoy singing in a band with my favorite guy and his favorite guys.
As Pat Benatar once said, ‘Life is too short, so why waste precious time.’"
Eric Walker
The Illusionist/Bass
When Eric isn't playing music, he works in operations management in the nuclear industry. That's right folks, Eric (A.K.A. "Greg") glows in the dark! In fact, some might say his bass playing is "radioactive"! He's also our latest addition to the band and we are very grateful to have him onboard.
"You can always give something, even if it's only kindness."
Now that's no illusion; real talk.
Mike Moore
The Acrobat/Vocals/Lead Guitar
Mike is an expert in “old school” meteorology and once braved a tornado in high school to read wind speed…outside of the building!
“We offer a variety of music for everyone to enjoy!”
Andy Parrish
The Clown/Vocals/Percussion
Andy’s hobby is to discuss political theory with anyone who dares to take that challenge up {mic drop}, AND Kentucky bourbon (though not much anymore; It affects his meds).
“I live to put a shake in that back side and a smile on your face side!”
“SIX-STRING” - Since the Middle Ages when 5 member troubadours entertained the commoners with their minstrel acts and the Lute first came into use as the main popular instrument to today’s guitar hero arena shows, six strings means all things popular music.
“CIRCUS” - From the Roman amphitheaters (in Latin, “circus”) gladiatorial combats to the African “siricasi” (a combination of folklore dances and acrobatics) to the modern entertainment and spectacle we call today’s “circus”, the performance is the same. Breathtaking and entertaining with danger do, the spectacle is presented in front of a live audience from small venues to large arenas across the world.
